It's always great to see a gathering of windsurfers coming together to enjoy our great sport and it's a bigger to see them all take sail as one community of like minded individuals. Seeing hundreds of students take to the waves together during the BUCS Windsurf Nationals is quite the sight to see. The annual event is held Calshot Activities Centre in Southamphton, UK and is the culmination of a years worth of windsurfing events that have close to 300 universities competing from around the United Kingdom.
The collegiate sports event was held April 30th-May 2nd and consisted of conetestants that ranged from amateurs to experts and was focused mainly on freestyle discipline of windsurfing. Thankfully the weather throughout the windsurf event was almost perfect and made for some great actions throughout the weekend.
