In the past Euro Pin systems have had a tendency to have the pin shear off, leaving you hopefully not to far from shore trying to figure out what to do with your rig now that it isn't attached to your board.

It is all cast from one solid piece of stainless steel, meaning that there is nothing threaded, screwed, or held together with locktite. So, unless you are regulary breaking stainless steel rods, this might just be the new mast base for you.
